Registration and Grading Day 2012/13 Summer Season

New Players Most Welcome

A combined Registration and Grading day for the coming Summer season will be held from 10:30 am to 5.00 pm at Koonung Secondary College on Sunday 19th Aug 2012.

Your completed form can be lodged with the Club’s Registrar on the day.

As registration and grading is a very important process in planning for the coming season, the Club asks that all players register on the day and the age groups listed below attend grading. If the player cannot attend or will not be playing in the coming winter season, please contact the club via the club e-mail on

Note: - Members of the coaching committee will also be attending games prior to the end of the season for the purpose of grading.

All players undertaking Grading are requested to wear their Koonung singlet, bring a drink bottle AND a basketball. New players please wear a red t-shirt.


           BOYS                                                       GIRLS

Un 14  10:30 am - 11:30 am    Un 12  11:30 am - 12:30 pm

Un 12  12:30 pm - 1:30 pm      Un 10  1.30 pm - 2:30 pm

Un 10  2.30 pm - 3:30 pm        Un 8   3.30 pm - 4:30 pm

Un 8  3.30 pm - 4:30 pm        

REGISTRATION TIMES (Under 14 girls and Under 16 to Under 20) Please register on the day, any time between 11.00am to 4.00pm


For all age groups the cut-off date is 1st July 2012.

So if your child was 9 at that date they will play Under 10

The Story behind the banner picture

Okay, so the picture on our banner has been there for a few years now.  But there is a great story behind it.  It was taken immediately after a Grand Final (in 2006) when coach Colin Cass (with his son Jordy in the team) lead his then Under 13 Boys into what turned out to be an amazing match against Eltham, played at Slater Reserve. Peter Sedy was on hand with Video Camera (his son Campbell is second from the left) - the game had everyting - there was a fantastic atmosphere, contoversy of course and plenty of skills on show.    Watch the video below



A Comet in the Southern Cross

The inaugural Southern Cross Challenge conducted by Basketball Victoria was an overwhelming success last weekend in Ballarat. Koonung was represented at the event by Lachlan Buur-Jensen in the U15 Boys.
