Koonung has success at Eltham tournament

Two teams represented Koonung Comets Basketball Club in the annual Eltham/Dandenong junior basketball tournament. A team compiled of a mixture of U8's and U10's entered the U10 B/C grade, while a team compiled of U18's and U20's entered in the U20 B grade division. The weekend was conducted between 21st and 24th of January, with both teams achieving fantastic results.
The tournament is the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere and has many representative teams from all over the country entering it. Therefore for Koonung teams to represent the club at such a level is to be commended. Both teams managed to reach the grand final of their grade - the U 10 boys beating Altona 21-9 and the U20 boys coming runners-up in a tough match to Whittlesea (29-39).
Special mention to Matthew Rowell and Mark Jeffers who were awarded the Most Valuable Player award for their performance in their grand finals
